Answer 1 :
There is a large number of technology companies here in the Denver Tech Center and Inverness on the south end of town. North Denver also has a tech center area in Broomfield called Flatirons, companies like cisco, sun micro, oracle, etc. Downtown has the typical broad range of businesses.

About how do I get a work permit in Denver, Colorado

How do I get a work permit in Denver, Colorado?
Ok so I am 16 years old, and to get a job the applications say i need a work permit. How do I get one, is it hard to get one and how long does it take to get one?

Answer 1 :
It's easy. You get your work permit from the school where you attend. Just go to the office and ask. If you are out of school and have not graduated or received a GED, you still have to go to the school. But a million kids are doing the same thing, and they can get you the forms to fill out. Since it is all handled at the school (or in some cases, at the school district headquarters) it's very fast. No problem.

About is dallas worth moving to from denver for work

Is dallas worth moving to from denver for work?
I am currently going to school in Denver for my bachelors in criminal justice. I recently got recruited to apply to the Dallas police department. I got accepted and am trying to figure out if it is worth it to move out there. The starting pay is basically $41k. Is that enough to live out there comfortably? Is it a nice area to live in?
Dallas - 8 Answers

Answer 1 :
if you like to sweat alot. Personally i would stay in Denver. Denver rules.
Answer 2 :
Dallas is great. Much better than Denver. Denver has basically become crime infested
Answer 3 :
There was a similar question earlier today - - was that from your wife? I answered that question and I'll answer yours which is slightly different. If it's just the 2 of you, you could live comfortably, but not extravagantly on that salary. If your wife works too you'll be doing fine. The cost of living is less here, especially houses. I was in Denver last month and gasoline was higher there than it is here. I live in a Dallas suburb and personally I wouldn't live in Dallas itself. Taxes are higher, crime is higher, & the public school system is inferior. However, the majority of the suburbs are good. People are friendly & welcoming. There's entertainment, although most of it is in various suburbs rather than in Dallas itself, and it's different than you'd find in Denver. You may want to give it a try. Police are in demand everywhere, so if you don't like it you can always move back to Denver.
Answer 4 :
I like both cities. Stay away from south Dallas. Dallas was # 1 crime city but I think its now fallen in status. The median house prices/cost of living is similar to Denver. Id say in this economy, if you have a good paying, full time job offer. Take it. Can you afford to take a week's vacation and visit? If you go to aa.com ( am airlines) you might be able to find a cheap flight. Theyre both hub airports
Answer 5 :
You can live fine there for that kind of money. With jobs so hard to find right now, go for it. And like any city Dallas has great areas and it has dumps. Ask the other people in the department for the good places to live.
Answer 6 :
An income of $41,000 in Dallas is the same as an income of $47,000 in Denver. If your wife has an income as well, you can afford to live in a nice neighborhood in a city with good schools. http://www.bestplaces.net/col/?salary=47000&city1=50820000&city2=54819000 I would not live in Dallas (unless it's North of LBJ Freeway). Working as a policeman in Dallas is a dangerous job if you have to work in one of the higher crime areas, but that's true of any large city. Dallas is NOT the "murder capital of the US". New Orleans and Detroit have recently held that title. As a matter of fact, when you rate a city by "dangerous crimes", Dallas isn't even in the top 25. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0921299.html http://www.forbes.com/2009/04/23/most-dangerous-cities-lifestyle-real-estate-dangerous-american-cities_slide_2.html?partner=yahoo http://www.forbes.com/2007/11/08/murder-city-danger-forbeslife-cx_de_1108murder.html Richardson, TX is a city just North of the LBJ Freeway and Dallas. The city has low crime and great schools. The University of Texas at Dallas is there, and they have the highly regarded Richland College (junior college) as well. http://www.city-data.com/city/Richardson-Texas.html Plano, TX is just North of Richardson and had the fewest murders for a large city in 2006. The city had only four murders, a rate of 1.6 murders per 100,000 residents. They have Excellent schools. http://www.city-data.com/city/Plano-Texas.html I have one relative who is a policeman working in the North Dallas area. He lives in North West Plano. Another relative works in Plano as a policeman and lives in East Plano (more affordable). http://www.trulia.com/for_sale/Plano,TX/SINGLE-FAMILY_HOME_type/#for_sale/Plano,TX/SINGLE-FAMILY_HOME_type/130000p_price/price;a_sort/ The average cost of homes in Richardson is $169,600. The average cost of homes in Denver is $234,500. The average cost of homes in Plano is $208,800 That's a big difference. ----------------------------------------------
Answer 7 :
I would not join DPD. There is a lot of crime here and DPD always ends up on the news. You should check out Grand Prairie which is less populated and has less crime. My husband and I live off of a combined $70k a yr and we are just fine. It is cheaper to live in Desoto, Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, and lancaster. They are in southern Dallas county and don't have high crime rates. You need to think about the seasons because we dont get tons of snow. I am 28yrs old and the most snow I have seen is 6inches and that was in Denton. In the summer we can hit 110 and have 21 straight days in 100 degree temps. It rains more in Fallas and winter.
Answer 8 :
Don't come here!! Reasons = Wont some sweet tea and ya ain't from around cheer is ya? Ya must be one of them there yaky foreigners. I'm not kidding this has happen to me. So save you self don't move here. I'd leave but I've become so ill from this polluted oil and gas land I'm now unable to get out. HELP ME

About what areas in Littleton Colorado should I look at when relocating with young family

What areas in Littleton Colorado should I look at when relocating with young family?
I am possibly relocating with boyfriend and his son and will be working in Denver, Co but am looking to live in the Littleton area and am wondering which neighborhoods/locations I should look at. We will be doing apartment living for a while until we get completly settled.

Answer 1 :
I am only familiar with 3 apartments in Littleton, CO area.... so it might be helpful. 1st is called "Pinnacle at Mountain Gate". It is located in between Ken Caryl st. and W. Mineral Ave and next to a neighborhood where some people that I know live in called "Polo Ridge Reserve". Also, it is less than a mile away from Aspen Grove shopping center. It is also very nearby a middle school called "Ken Caryl". It is, however, filled with college kids, so you might want to reconsider this option (or at least it used to be I suppose). 2nd is on Bowles & Pierce (nearby Columbine high school), called "Fairways at Raccoon Creek". Simply because it really is right next to a golf course called Raccoon Creek. It is also nearby a neighborhood called "Grant Ranch", which is probably in top 5 in Littleton area. 3rd is right next to Southwest Plaza mall called "The Dakota At Governor's Ranch". It happens to right behind of an elementary school called "Governor's Ranch". All 3 apartments that I have listed are within 4 mile radius of each other and they are very safe places to raise children and you can also assume that many of the younger families are starting to boom in Littleton area. If your boyfriend's son is in elementary school, I suggest the 3rd apartment. Best wishes,
Answer 2 :
Littleton is a nice working to middle to upper class suburb. Find something close to a major thoroughfare so you can get to work. We don't have rush hour, we have rush morning and rush afternoon.

Answer 1 :
Call 4-5 mason contractors and get estimates. They'll know the best price as they live in the area.
Answer 2 :
I did it myself with supplies from Home Depot. With rebar, wood edging and sand base, and a depth of 5" it cost me $6 a square foot. You can cut the cost if you do 3" instead of 5" Figure labor by doubling the cost of supplies. $500 in supplies would be $1000 in labor...so do it yourself and reduce the total cost by 66%.

About how does seating at the Comedy Works in Denver work? is it general admission

How does seating at the Comedy Works in Denver work? is it general admission?
stadium seating? tables with a wait staff? I have never been but I am trying to arrange a night out with some friends to see Charlie Murphy. Thanks I was looking for an answer, not a link to a website which I have already been to. I wanted an answer tonight, as there is nobody to talk to over there at comedy works right now. Only leave an answer to the question.

www.comedyworks.com
Answer 2 :
Call them up and find out.
Answer 3 :
The seating is general admission. If you want good seats and want to be sure your group sits together arrive early to be at the front of the line because the doors open about an hour ahead of time and then its a cattle herd from there. It is sort of stadium seating and each seat has its own little table. Hope that helps. And don't forget you are required to buy two drinks while you are there.
Answer 4 :
1st come 1st seated. www.comedyworks.com
